Welcome to Sherlock Holmes Radio!

This is a rebroadcast of the old-time radio drama, The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.

Whether you have read and re-read the original Sherlock Holmes stories by Arthur Conan Doyle, or are visiting 221 Baker Street for the first time, you will enjoy these excellent radio dramas that originally aired from 1939-1947.

These ~20 minute episodes are a great way to enjoy the Sherlock Holmes stories! I will be releasing episodes every Friday.

About This Project

Once I first got a taste, I devoured the four original Sherlock Holmes novels, the five collections of short stories, and all fourteen of the Basil Rathbone movies that I could find online.

I find that Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes stories entertain without falling into the pitfalls of modern mystery novels. They do not need to resort to the macabre or the perverse to shock the reader into paying attention. They are great stories because they invite the reader to use his powers of deduction in Holmes’ footsteps. The reader simply gets to enjoy the “science of deduction”. Elementary.

So, when I found these radio dramas, with the same actors as the excellent black-and-white movies that I had enjoyed, I desired to share them somehow. I already have a publication here on Substack called Power & Glory. I like the Substack platform, so another publication here made sense.

This project is free, and I intend to keep it that way. If you appreciate this project and would like to support my work, consider subscribing, sharing, or checking out my other publication.
